The Bee Gees did so much more than disco I find it sad that Robin is being labeled a "disco icon". They had their first hits in the mid 60's and were anything but dance songs. They progressed towards what was then called R&B in the mid 70's and then came the offer to do the songs for "Saturday Night Fever" which became, believe it or not in this day and age of 'predicted blockbusters via aggressive demographic study' a surprise hit; with the soundtrack taking off like no one expected. I saw the film before it became huge and remember it was R rated... the language was foul and the sexual situations close to soft core but once the studio saw the demand for the film, they pulled it briefly.....

Astounding! One prays that this wonderful man, spectacular singer, member of a group that is an icon of a generation, will recover completely and continue to make beautiful music with his brothers. God bless him. We pray for him hourly.
As much as I hope for the best, I also hope for the end to be quick and painless. I think we all know what the outcome is going to be. Lets just pray for a cure in the near future as we keep Robin in our thoughts and prayers.
wow this is great!! my friend Ruth has been crying for days over this and now hes better. I thought maybe she really knew him the way shes been acting.

It's amazing what some people go through with health scares. Health is a blessing! Every day you should be thankful for this because the minute you lose it everything becomes a battle. This man is very courageous! What a story!

Oh, such sad, sad news. Robin Gibb had such an elegance about him he was a true gentleman whose loved for music just oozed from his very soul when he spoke of it. His talent is pretty much unmatched * THE most perfect voice in music and a talent for writing that speaks for itself * over 100 million records sold. Kids in their 20's and 30's today have no idea what great music is and what hard work it takes to produce it. I am so glad I grew up with the Bee Gees and am thankful to them for making music that always makes me feel like dancing. Good-bye, Robin:
My deepest Sympathy to the Gibb family. I lost a brother to cancer and I can just imagine the pain that Barry has gone though loosing hi.....
